Scientific journals are what they are: compendiums of carefully edited and painstakingly curated papers and articles written by accredited researchers and then reviewed by their peers for the advancement of academic learning.

Or ARE they?

This interesting article brings up a number of questions and addresses some issues that apparently plague academic literature “beneath the radar,” if you will. I can tell you one thing: there are talented academics and lousy academics just as there are gifted auto mechanics and useless auto mechanics. Read everything with a grain of salt and always check under the hood if something seems off.

But THIS is a completely different problem.
