These kinds of encounters happen fairly often in Australia, apparently. In homes and footwear and discarded soda cans and so on and so forth. For a snake so poisonous, though, I wish “they” had been more creative when coming up with its name. “Look! It’s a brown snake!” has all the impact of hearing, “Gosh! Cole slaw!”
