This recent drone-footage of a rather hefty Great White Shark sizing-up a couple of possibly pants-pooping South African surfers will give you a good old fashioned case of the rising neck-hairs.

The best part of this video? The Big Mama sharky is first distracted and then hustled-off by a pod of deftly maneuvering dolphins. Were the dolphins acting on behalf of the surfers or themselves, with such a massive predator in the vicinity? It may have been a case of both, but whatever the reality, these surfers were quite fortunate and the risky-but-synchronized movement of the dolphin pod as a unit points toward spectacular talents for evasion and survival that must have come from prehistoric years of imbedded instinct.
