It has admittedly been quite awhile since I visited my hometown of St. Augustine, Florida, but my transformed California heart has never been terribly far from those coquina-shell beaches, the beguiling side-streets that lead to unexpected delights, and the stunning historical architecture that graces this jewel-of-a-community. St. Augustine truly has it all, from arts to ghosts to gourmet cuisine to world-class accommodations to genuine Southern hospitality. If you’re thinking of a Floridian vacation, you will not find a more pleasing and diversely intriguing destination.

To wit, Travel & Leisure e-zine just published a list of the Twenty Best Things to Do while exploring St. Augustine. I can vouch for all of them and add at least twenty more. But THESE examples constitute a great starting point for the imaginations of most potential visitors. Enjoy America’s Ancient City!
