They Heard About It From Farallon Island Sharks

THIS specific behavior among shark populations when invaded by marauding pods of killer whales is certainly interesting but far from unprecedented. It has been observed and documented among Great White Shark populations around the Farallon Islands, seventeen miles west of San Francisco. This indicates that the two apex predatory species have made room for each other over hundreds of thousands of years (at least) and that the sharks know instinctively to scram when the sounds of an orca pod entering the neighborhood can be heard. Luckily for the Great White Sharks, they have the luxury of diving to deeper depths with no need to come up for air, unlike the killer whales. Take THAT, you wasteful, greedy, liver-loving orcas.

[Jonathan is busy writing and illustrating and finishing a whole slew of projects in preparation for upcoming major releases. Don’t expect a helluva lot of bloggin’ to get done unless something really strikes his fancy. Be patient. Marvelous things are on the way.]
