THIS NEWS involving the deposition of an author from her upcoming Penguin imprint book release because of her history of “review bombing” on Goodreads … well, it’s just disconcerting, to put things mildly.

Goodreads itself is not responsible for the wickedness, but the whole brouhaha has forced them to begin policing their review system with greater acuity. Still the entire scenario reeks of the overarching problem we still face in the publishing world: too much shit being published by too many amateurs who have no business being in a healthy marketplace to begin with.

What a snafu.
