For decades marine biologists and researchers have been seeking the Holy Grail of sharkdom (and no, it’s not a surviving “Meg”), which, depending upon one’s academic persuasion or voyeuristic bent, is either raw footage of Great White Sharks mating and the places where they get this business accomplished OR a great white shark actually giving birth to a pup.

Whull, one researcher claims to have fallen out of his seat with excitement while capturing the moment a newborn Great White wriggled out of its Big Mama’s womb and swam to the surface in a milky white cloud of glory. (No, there was no “Gender Reveal” party.)

This admittedly one-of-a-kind event took place near Santa Barbara. Media outlets are picking up the story, but as far as I can see, there’s no actual footage of the sacred moment itself. Maybe they’re waiting to break that on TMZ.
