A very unfortunate Australian man on vacation with his wife and three children fell into a river while hiking a couple of weeks ago. The edge of the riverbank gave way as he was walking along and down he tumbled into a portion of the river called “CROCODILE BEND”. Though his wife tried to save him, the riverbank was too slippery and, as misfortune would have it, a 16-ft. saltwater crocodile soon came along and snapped him up.

Now we have some brain-trust employing all sorts of mental gymnastics to indicate that it the attack by the croc was “unnatural” and the result of human interference in saltwater crocodile habitat.

Pull the other one. If some poor soul happens to tumble into a river at a spot named CROCODILE BEND, I wouldn’t strain the gray matter looking for alternative excuses for the horrific outcome … especially in Australia. Humans are definitely culpable for an unending litany of rotten things on this planet, but plain old bad luck in the Great Outdoors is not one of them. RIP, Dad of Three.
