“Duchess” was the name my family’s first kitty. She turned her nose up at anything less than pâté de foie gras, mistreated the servants (us), enjoyed a tiddly of sherry before bedtime, yet UTTERLY eschewed the pomposity of tiaras. I always admired her down-to-earth “duchess of the people” bonhomie in that specific regard. 🐈‍⬛
