When I was a child, my Grandmother kept a 30 lb, gargantuan Webster’s Dictionary printed in 1932, a tome that I perused endlessly in a corner of her library with the fascination only a weird, wordy child could summon. I thought my father had thrown it away long ago. Nope. As I settle my family’s estate at last, it was joyfully rediscovered and is coming home with me to California … even though its home has always been my heart.
