True Art Still Requires Process

If writing a long-form novel is a quest filled with winding roads, hidden adventures, and often startling developments, writing and illustrating such a book is an even more astounding expedition. “Case and point” is evidenced by the initial graphic ideas I harbored for THE WEDNESDAY BOX: A DARK FABLE. I wasn’t entirely certain (at first) of the nature of my antagonist in the visual realm, so I played around with a number of notions, many of them being symbolic or abstract. The image above is an example of that searching approach. When I reached the point wherein the story’s great villain and other characters were fully actualized, I had switched from rudimentary pen-and-ink graphic depictions to elaborate multi-media full-color efforts. It was a “blossoming” process, to be certain.

To get a look at the entire cavalcade of players in this trippy, frightening, sweeping modern fairy tale, however, you’re going to have to buy the book. It’s available for mere pennies as a Kindle preorder HERE, if ebooks are your thing. The paperback edition will be the one you’ll want to treasure, however. An audiobook and a limited edition version will likewise come into play. Come along for the ride, meanwhile. It’s far from over.
