Two of my recent woodwork creations. Boxes. I love making them. Clearly, with my dark fable, THE WEDNESDAY BOX, set to launch on June 18, 2026, I love to write about boxes, too. Boxes of enchanted aspect. In my downtime, between crafting stories, I haunt my wood-shop more devotedly than a ghost clinging to a mossy tombstone. Therein, I construct and decorate boxes within which I may store some of my more sacred talismans and precious bric-a-brac. These two on the bedside table are loaded with treasures. Alas, I shall not reveal the contents. The lower container, the redwood chest with the cedar lid, holds the secrets of the Universe.

And maybe a bag of cookies.

The more elaborately designed little box on top doesn’t boast much. Just a mummified gnome.

(Well, he passed away on the front lawn … I had to put him somewhere.)
