How about some flowers for Queen Mab, the formidable faery enchantress played by the exquisite Miranda Richardson opposite recently (and sadly) deceased Sam Neill’s Merlin in the old miniseries of the same name? I loved this treatment of the Arthurian legend as a youth and feel it never got the plaudits it deserved. Mab was a sorceress beyond compare … potent enough to inspire a kid to write dark fairy tales of his own later on.
