POP HAZMAT HEADLINE DU JOUR: Amputees Brawl at Charity Soccer Match. Organizers Stumped.

CULTURAL TOXICITY QUOTIENT: I’m going to go out on a limb, here, and assign a CTQ of 9 to this disgraceful behavior. It was supposed to be for charity, after all.

RUDIMENTARY ANALYSIS: Two teams of amputee soccer players from the Netherlands and Belgium engaged in more than friendly competition at a charity fundraiser match in Antwerp the other day. Rumor has it that a member of the Belgian team cried foul and a player from the Netherlands felt that his opponent simply didn’t have a leg to stand on. A brawl ensued.

EXISTENTIAL RAMIFICATIONS: Can referees accomplish anything? When this sort of unseemly display begins to rear its ugly head in the name of charity, all escalating tensions ought to be immediately cut-off.
