This is an amazing piece of writing.I had to take it all in by stages. This could certainly be a book on its own.It does call attention to other books and memoirs of Jessi Colter.I’ll be getting those.
I’m happy that we have this author, and that he has a history of hearing her music since childhood.I’m glad that he was moved to find out more, and send it out into the world for the rest of us.
There is a sense of some disappointment about the shadow of her mega-famous husband,Waylon Jennings. She lived in his shadow, despite the fact that the author gives her as much admiration for her work as for his.It was the way it was–he was the star.
I had a good laugh about a young Linda Ronstadt peeing her pants to hear Jessi sing.Kind of like when Trump met with Obama for their courtesy call to transfer power. He looked like he had seen 6 ghosts.
I. wonder if Jessi wouldn’t like to read this?
